Spring Winds

Designed to connect children with the wonders of the natural world.

Children will engage in activities like building mini-ecosystems, identifying local wildlife, and conducting simple experiments to understand ecological principles. Through interactive discussions and projects, kids will learn about the importance of conservation, the impact of human activities on the environment, and how they can contribute to a sustainable future.

Program Highlights:

Workshop 1. DESIGNING MINI ECO SYSTEMS

Kids will start with an overview of what makes up an ecosystem, including biotic components (plants, animals, and microorganisms) and abiotic factors (water, soil, light, and temperature). They’ll learn how these elements interact to create a balanced environment. Each child will build their own mini ecosystem in a clear container, such as a terrarium or aquarium. They’ll select and arrange various components, such as soil, plants, small animals, and water, to create a self-sustaining environment. The workshop will cover how different components of the ecosystem interact. Kids will learn about food chains, nutrient cycles, and the roles of producers, consumers, and decomposers.

Workshop 2. WATER CONSERVATION AND MARINE WORLD

An engaging and educational program dedicated to teaching children about the importance of preserving our water resources and the wonders of the marine world. This workshop combines interactive learning with hands-on activities to instill a sense of environmental responsibility and appreciation for aquatic ecosystems. Participants will engage in activities such as creating ocean-themed art projects, building miniature aquatic habitats, and using interactive models to explore the layers of the ocean and the animals that inhabit them. Using tools like magnifying glasses and microscopes, kids will get a closer look at aquatic life. They’ll examine samples of water, algae, and small aquatic creatures, learning about their structures and functions. The workshop will introduce children to a range of aquatic organisms, from colorful coral reefs and playful dolphins to mysterious deep-sea creatures and vibrant freshwater fish. Kids will learn about the roles these organisms play in their ecosystems and their unique adaptations for survival.
